Inositol
What it is: It is a small molecule, commonly known as myo-isonitol. It is found naturally in plants and animals and its chemical structure is similar to that of glucose. It is a carbohydrate with sweet taste (in a smaller proportion than sugar).

How it works: Inositol is involved in cell communication. Studies have shown that it can contribute to the normal function of the hormones that are related to stress and mood. Moreover, studies have shown that it contributes to more effective insulin regulation, especially in women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
