Sea Buckthorn Berry

Sea Buckthorn Berry
What it is: Sea buckthorn (Hippophae L.) is a deciduous shrub that belongs to the Eleagnaceae family.

How it works: Sea buckthorn berry has high vitamin C content (with average content about 15 times higher than orange) and other natural antioxidants, such as vitamin E, flavonoids, carotenoids (including lycopene, zeaxanthin and beta-carotene) and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). Moreover, sea buckthorn contains omega-3, omega-6, omega-9 and the rare omega-7, highly important for the reduction of the risk of type II diabetes, atherosclerotic plaque formation, and reduction of an inflammation marker called C-reactive protein (CRP), which is related to increased risk of heart attack and cerebral attack. The nutrients and the phytochemical ingredients of the fruits of sea buckthorn have a positive effect against inflammations, cancer and other diseases.
