What it is: Propolis, also known as “bee glue”, is a substance that looks like wax and is collected from the local flora by the bees to protect and repair their beehives. Propolis contains phenolic acids, flavonoids, terpenes, aromatic aldehydes and alcohol, fatty acids, stilbenes, beta-steroids and many other substances

How it works: It has known antibacterial (staphylococcus, streptococcus, salmonella, etc.), antiviral (influenza virus, herpes), antifungal, anesthetic and anti-infectious activity. Propolis also seems to have the capacity to increase the resistance of the body against viruses and bacteria.
